The Roscommon County Community Foundation is an organization that receives gifts from our fine donors with the intention of the funds being used to assist the community with needs in various areas. It also manages funds and distributes money, per the fund agreement instruction, for use in specific areas of interest. The donations that are received are invested, and the interest received from theses investments is the money that is distributed by the foundation. The broad and diverse spectrum of organizations in the area that are served through the foundation include the Roscommon County Sheriff Department, all of the school districts in Roscommon County, Roscommon County Literacy Council, A.R.K. (Association to Rescue Kritters), all public libraries in the county, Houghton Lake and Roscommon Historical Societies, township police and fire departments, S.A. D.D., Habitat for Humanity, Artesia Youth Park, Children’s Bereavement Network, Project HOPE, Roscommon County Commission on Aging, township and county parks, Higgins Lake Foundation, Huron Pines, Muskegon River Watershed Assembly, all area Little League programs and many tuition scholarships. These are just a few of the many organizations that have benefited from the support you provide through the Roscommon County Community Foundation.
