Camp Westminster provides a setting for summer camps, retreats, mission trips and outdoor summer worship on beautiful Higgins Lake. The summer camp program allows children and youth ages 7 – 17 to develop a sense of responsibility and self-worth in a caring Christian community. One-week day camps and one and two week residential sessions are offered during June, July, and August. Activities include sailing, canoeing, leadership development, hiking, climbing, swimming, crafts and nature.

Westminster by the lake worship June 14 – August 16 at 11:00 am.

Sunday morning worship services open to the public and are held in the camp’s outdoor lakefront chapel.

We are a non-profit organization that has been providing hospice care in Northeast Michigan since 1979. We currently serve Arenac, Crawford, Gladwin, Iosco, Ogemaw, Oscoda and Roscommon counties. We provide care for patients who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness and are seeking comfort care rather than curative treatment. Hospice care is provided in the patient’s home or a facility. Patients and their families have the benefit of a team of professionals to support and care for their loved ones. Care team members include: the patients physician/hospice medical director, registered nurses, social workers, spiritual advisors, bereavement counselors, home health aides and volunteers. In addition to the care team, hospice care offers 24-hour availability, specialized children’s services, therapies, dietary assistance, pain management, all medications related to the illness, medical equipment and supplies.

The Michigan Firemen’s Memorial Festival is held the 3rd weekend in September. We provide fire training and education to firefighters and the general public, and maintain the Firemen’s Memorial and Training Grounds.

Our community chorale group gives two concerts a year for the enjoyment of the community and to raise funds to support our music scholarships for Roscommon and Houghton Lake Schools

The Roscommon Area District Library’s Main location offers a wide variety of year-round quality programming. Come sit by the fireplace and enjoy a book or magazine. Both locations offer a variety of reading materials and wi-fi. The main branch also provides the “Michigan Room”, which houses Michigan information, as well genealogy research materials. Visit the library website for a full schedule of events and offerings.
